Oliver is a theatre director and writer based on the remote Arctic island of Ingøy in Northern Norway, as well as Oslo and London.

He trained as a director at The Drama Centre London and is the founder and artistic director of the worlds northern most artist residency centre, The Field Station. He is also associate director at Hackney Showroom and previously artistic director of RIVE Productions, associate director of PLAY Theatre Company and mentored by The Michael Grandage Company.

RIVE Productions, Oliver’s theatre company, has produced a number of acclaimed new plays in London: The Dog, The Night and The Knife at the Arcola Theatre, Klippies at the Southwark Playhouse and Skin A Cat at The Bunker Theatre. Oliver was awarded a Michael Grandage Company Futures bursary in 2019, using it to develop his stage adaptation of Anthony Horowitz’s award-winning novel The Devil and His Boy at Theatr Clwyd. Oliver also regularly teaches and directs at drama schools in the UK and internationally.

Oliver co-wrote and directed Frau Welt for which he was nominated for Best Director at the Off West End Awards, alongside nominations for-Best Male and the TBC Award for productions that defy traditional categories.
